Search box and bullet points in top main navigation menu
Hello at averta,
How some questions regarding the Phlox theme:
- I wanted to remove bullet points from the top navigation menu — how do I get rid of them?
- It is kind of awkward that the search box opens up in an entirely new page. I want the search box to be on the same area in the top navigation area (as in in this site: http://www.fpse.ca/about), instead of a pop-up. How can I implement that?
Thank you for choosing to work with Phlox and welcome to the forums.
Please notice the currently the search box is only available at the fullscreen layout.
For the menu splitter dots, please navigate to the Appearance -> Customize -> Header -> Header Menu and turn off the Display Menu Splitter option.

Hi Averta support team,
I have a couple more problem. I was changing the header an footer background color to reflect our site identity. I chose the hex color #006666 for header and footer background color. In the WordPress dashboard, it works well. However, when I publish the page the background color comes out fine in the footer, but not in the header (you can see it here: https://dcfa.ca/wpsandbox/). Is there something I’m missing? Also, I wanted to change the site name’s text color to white (instead of blue – the default), but I could not see anywhere how to change the site name’s text color.
Also, how can I get rid of sectional lines (layout lines)?

Thank you for the follow up and the details provided.
Please notice that I checked our testing and development environment again and I didn’t noticed the problem you are facing.
It is possible that this issue is result of other configurations or other plugins conflicts.
All said, it would really speed up the troubleshooting process if I have access to the admin are of your website. Otherwise it would be very hard to fine the reason and the fix for this.
Thank you for the update!
As I mentioned before, if we could check the live website and also the admin are, we could find the real reason for the issue and probably you didn’t need to use custom CSS snippets. Anyway, I’m glad that you find a workaround.
Also please notice that we are adding new feature for the Customizer in the upcoming release of the Phlox which will take care of several issues as well.
And for the border situation, if you could guide me with some screenshots of which parts you have in mind, I can provide some styles for you to achieve your design.
